CPU/Ram: 1300Mhz
Product: IBM R40 think pad

I recently and stupidly changed a display setting on my Think pad now when windows loads up i get to see the boot screen then it all goes black and i see nothing but I hear windows still loading, is there anyone who can help me pls

boot into safe mode and revert the display settings.

Try each of these combinations of keys: either Fn + F3, Fn + F5, Fn + F8, or Fn + F9. You may have inadvertently switched the display to an external monitor (even though one isn't present).

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

Hi,
Is your Thinkpad a T41 or T42? If it is it might not be anything you've done. These models are known to have problems with the ATI graphics chip. Hope its not but.. I've dealt with loads of these boards, most of them had this problem.

no it is not switched to external monitor... I have had an external monitor on it and i get the same result... The setting i changed was in the advanced section, it said do not check this unless there is nothing wrong with ur computer... There was nothing wrong as far as i know until i checked that setting...
