Comment:

When deleting a Display theme, which was downloaded from a website. I must have deleted Display Properties in the control Panel. I am unable to set appearance, themes, windows savers, font sizes, background, etc. How do reinstall display properties, without having to reinstall xp totally.

can you right click on your desktop and click properties, does this bring up display properties?
you could run system restore to before you made the changes and that should recreate the shortcut to display properties in control panel.
start-programs-accessories-system tools-system restore. when restore is done it will auto restart your pc.

try putting in you windows xp cd and chosiong the repair option. However you will lose your upgrades. Such as service pack 1 and anything thereafter.
