Recently I had a virus on my computer, I managed to get it mostly cleaned up, however the background is now just a solid color and in the middle says "SPYWARE INFECTION: Your system is infected with spyware. Windows recommends you to use a spyware removal tool to prevent loss of important data and increase system preformance. Using this PC before having it cleaned from spyware threats is highly discouraged." (If anyone has any suggesitons of some free tools I could use to clean out my computer that would be great, but not the main reason why I'm posting)When I go to my Display Properties then to "Desktop" the background of where you can select different backgrounds is like this offwhite color, as well has the "browse" button and the "position" button to where I can't click on it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Matt, "When I go to my Display Properties then to "Desktop" the background of where you can select different backgrounds is like this offwhite color, as well has the "browse" button and the "position" button to where I can't click on it".

Just right click the top of that window, choose Move then hold your left mouse button down and drag it to the left untill you can see the Browse button.

I can see it, it's just that offwhite which shows that I can't click it, however I still tried and can't see to get it to work.

I just got the same problem re: this screen. The screen is only the TIP of the iceberg where the malware that was downloaded is concerned, though!! There was a boatload of it downloaded to my system... and yours, too, I'm (99%) certain.

Use the trusty Spybot, and AdAware, to get rid of these things. Each of them finds different 'baddies' on your system which the other doesn't seem to find at times, so download and use them both. Both are free to use, and have exceptionally good reputations.

Running these two software products rid me of ALL the problems associated with this malicious screen.

http://www.download.com/3000-8022-10045910.html Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition 1.06

I'm sure that these will work for you!! :^)
