diskette drive 0 seek failure.

Specs: Windows XP
i'm using a dell inspiron 530 , was working perfect shut it down regular next day i get the "diskette drive 0 seek failure" message. i made no changes , tried new battery on the mother board, tried disconnecting the diskette drive, although its more of a sd card reader driver, i get the same result.

The bios is telling you it's not finding a floppy drive it believes is there. Not sure what you mean by "its more of a sd card reader". If you don't have an actual floppy drive then go into cmos\bios setup and set the floppy drive to NONE. You may need to disable the floppy controller too.

Does it boot into windows after the error? If not I imagine your hard drive has died but check in cmos/bios setup and verify the hard drive is properly identifed.
