I recently purchased Neverwinter Nights Gold and was playing it for about a week when my computer decided to crash. Turned it on the next morning to find that my operating system was not detected. I played around a bit with the jumper settings and IDE channels to no avail. Now it says "disk read error occured. Ctrl Alt Del to restart" or sometimes it just says "rr." My BIOS detects my hard drive sometimes, but I still get the same message. My XP CD has decided not to work so I can't boot from the that. If anyone can help my situation it would be much appreciated

Hi, I would suggest you to run a diagnostics on the Hard Drive.I feel the Hard Drive has crashed. If Hard drive test passes. Then u will have to format the Hard drive and reinstall WIN XP.
Thanks, I'll give that whirl. I know I can't format the HD using the format c: command, because I've tried already, and that "rr" bs doesn't allow F8 for safe mode. So whatever. If you know any other ways to format HDs let me know. Thanks again
