Comment:

this is killing me.
I accidently moved a folder containing tons of AVI files into another folder. When I went in to move it out it said it was unable to move the folder because the disk is in use or I dont have permission. I restored my drive to a day before and all the files are there but I am still unable to open or move them for the same reasons. Trying to open a Photoshop file it tells me that the file is locked and I should unlock it in the windows explorer property menu. I looked. there is no "unlock" feature. Please help, this is work I can not replace.

Thanks in advance.

hmmm, i have over 50 divx avi files and sometimes when i want to rename or move them it will tell me it is in use etc etc. if i go back to it 10 mins later or after a reboot it usually works properly nothing is accessing the file i think its a bug in xp, try going into safe mode might be able to move it then.

Cor, you need Gipo@moveonboot.

Here's there site:
http://www.gibinsoft.net/
look under gipo file utilities.

And here's the download link:
http://www.gibinsoft.net/gipoutils/bin/moveonb.exe

This excellent little utility can delete or move those awkward little files that XP won't let you.
