Hi, Formatted the 10G HDD with win95 boot disk. Trying to install WIN XP with the XP startup disk. When booting the system with the XP boot (floppy)disk-1 I am getting an mesasge DISK I/O ERROR. I tried changing different folppy drives and also disks still i get the same message.
But when booting with win 95 startup disk the system boots.

Hopefully it's a bad BIOS setting. Go into setup at cold boot (the key to press appears on the first screen) and make sure the proper floppy drive type is selected, ie 3.5 inch 1.44mb. Although it is uncommon, you may have a bad floppy drive cable or it may not be seated properly on the drive or the motherboard.
