Open My Computer, click once on the icon for your hard drive, select Properties, under File menu. Click on the Tools tab. Click on the error checking 'check now' button. Check both the boxes in the pop up window. 'Fix errors ...' and 'recover files'. Then click Start. It will probably tell you that you need to restart the computer to do the hard disk check and repair. Restart your computer. Don't touch the keyboard while it goes into a 5 stage check of the hard disk. It takes an hour or two to fix your hard disk, depending on the size and bad clusters. Good luck.
