Hi all,
I have a new machine P4 with 512 MB ram with win XP Pro.
I recently bought DVD burner and installed it.
When I started the computer I got the following message
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

After reading few mails regarding this subject on this forum what I understand is that I have to enable my DVD burner(I might be wrong).
But I don't know how to do that.
Can someone guide me in this regard?

DVD burner's seems to have power supply because when I press the push button, the tray come out and goes in when I press again.
The only problem is that I cann't see my windows working.
any help
regards
/saleem

Re-check your Master/Slave plugging and make sure you have the cable connected correctly.

Hi all again,
thanks for reply.
After changing Master/Slave plugging, I no more get the Disk boot failure and I can see that winxp is there. Now I have another problem.
Before I installed DVD writer I already had a cd-writer on D:drive. Now the problem is that I still see one cd rom drive i.e. D:drive no matter if I put cd in CD-writer(the earlier one) or in DVD writer(recently installed). Even if I put cd in both drive I can only see the contents of only one cd.
Why this is so??
Do I have still Master/Slave plugging problem?
Any suggestion
thanks
