I'd like to get rid of this resource hog, but can't seem to find where I can untick the box that puts it in the taskbar. I have version 6.5.2 and I've read another thread here at computing.net that said to go into "browser plug-in" in the drop-down menu. I don't have a "browser plug-in" choice in my drop-down menu, just: File, Edit, Movie, Favorites, Window, and Help. And none of those drop-downs have anything remotely similar to "browser plug-in". Can anyone tell me how to disable this annoying program?
The only choice given me in "preferences" is speed. Nothing about the taskbar. :(

Is that a plugin for IE, or just something on Windows Taskbar ??

Here is information on it-- http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/TkBellExe/ -------------- Maybe see if it is on the Startup tab in msconfig, so you can uncheck it. Start, Run, then type
msconfig

Go to Realplayer Tools> Option> and uncheck Auto update, than fire up msconfig and uncheck TkBellExe from startup list.
I have ZoneAlarm pro installed on my pc, which takes care of that, by denying Realplayer to start the RealPlayer Update Scheduler.

RealPlayer? I was certain it was connected with QuickTime ... and I did find how to disable it by going into msconfig. Everything seems to be running okay with out it. ;)
