How can you stop the Padlock on a laptop from starting? I can hit the FN and F9 to turn it off but I know the laptop can start with this feature off since we have 100's and this is the only one that starts with the padlock on.

Hi, My Gateway laptop just started to do that, but only in one account (the admin account). I get the feeling that the solution is in the registry, but I can't find it. Other problems with that account are that the customizations don't "stick" anymore. I think that that may indicate registry corruption, but the MS registry fixer doesn't do anything for me. I'll keep looking. I'd hate to have to do a reinstall or even a repair install, but it may be the only way. DWeiner
