I have tried to download and install new nvidia graphics update for my card. I have uninstalled the old one. After this step my computer remained with some sort of default/basic graphics controller. When trying to install the new one I have (what a fool) chosen "disable" option at default graphics controller. After restarting computer my screen remained blank.
Since then I am stucked -
-when starting my computer normally, boot logo of XP occurs and then screen remains blank
- when trying start in Safe mode my computer gets stalled and the last file being loaded is the mup.sys driver.
I am lost. Can anybody help me?
Martin
PS: I would like to avoid OS reinstalation as I have some software installed on my hard disk that must not be lost.

You need to run a repair of Xp. Make CDROM first Boot Device in your BIOS, save and exit.
Place your Xp CD in the drive and reboot (you may need to press F8 or other key during boot), once at the setup screen make like you were doing a fresh install.
When you have to select a partition/drive to install to, select the one Xp is ALREADY on, and you should see an option to repair.
You wont lose any data doing this, and hopefully it will restore your video.
