I own a pinnacle real-time video capture card: DV500 DVD (I've been using it with win98 for a while and everything was great). Under XP I see black flashes during playback. I have to disable write caching on the HDDs. But under the drive propreties I can't, the safe removal thing is light gray... I NEED HELP QUICKLY, please.

I have a PC with a ABIT BX133 MB (with an ATA100 RAID Controler...

P.S. please do not tell me to go back to win98 (I have a new 120 GB HDD with a NTFS partition full of video...).

The HDD are ATA-100 and all IBM.

PIII 1000 Mhz and 512 MB of SDRAM.
3 HDD (IBM) 20BG/46GB/120GB.

the option to disable it was grayed out for me too. When I did a clean install, it now appears...so you might need to try either re-installing the OS or doing a clean install. Unless there is some other way...but i haven't found out about any yet
