As you know the Event Viewer can be used to see events in Appplication log, System log and Security log! I received my PC from shop with all 3 installed. I think (may be you correct me) my system is very slow because Security log is enabled! How to disable it? Look what is inside it:
Successful Logon: User Name: NETWORK SERVICE Domain: NT AUTHORITY Logon ID: (0x0,0x3E4) Logon Type: 5 Logon Process: Advapi Authentication Package: Negotiate Workstation Name: Logon GUID: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}

Entries into the security log have nothing to do with system slowness. These are informational messages. Look elsewhere for the reason of your system slowness.
