A new sound was installed (rocketfish, 5.1 PCI sound card), but do not have sound. Need instructions to disable old sound card. Thanks.

... I take it that you have installed the new sound card drivers already!

... go to start run (type) mmsys.cpl [press ENTER]

... then click "Audio" (tab) ...under sound playback Default device .... see what it is set on... you should be able to click it and "toggle" between another device to select it

... Apply!
