Disable mouse in dos

Anyone know of a way to disable the mouse for command prompt and dos apps in Windows XP. Running a dos app that is not compatible with windows 2000/xp dos mouse driver. Unable to disable mouse in application without paying to have it recompiled. Don't care if mouse does not work in dos at all.
