okay today i went in to the directx diagnostics tool(DXDIAG in Start>Run...)and i looked at my processor speed and it was completely off. It kept going down from 60MHz, to 50MHz, and now its at 10MHz.When i check the system properties it says i have 600MHz. can someone please help me? could it possibly be that installing directx 9 could have changed this. Thanx in advance, Kyle

You're saying that on the System tab, in the line that reads: "Processor: Intel Pentium...blah, blah, blah" that number is decreasing? As you watch view the screen?

Hello.
Direct X diagnostic tool is not a system info tool. It may give incorrect info on system components.
DX tool is and should be used only for diagnosing of video and audio components, nothing else.
If you want better info on your system, have Everest free edition or Sisoft Sandra or others out there.
