I am trying to install Directx 9.0c and i get an error "An Internal system error has occured Please refer to DxError.log and DirectX.log in your windows folder to determine the problem."

Ok i downloaded that then i ran it and it said its completed but i never seen anything get installed, also in Dxdiag i look at the Directx Version and it says not found

Type “regedt32” in the RUN slot and look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, "SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\DirectX
The version should read 4.09.0000.0904 if you have 9.0c installed. If there is something else there then the update failed.

If you cannot get the DirectX diagnostic to show the correct version, then I think you must have a corrupted registry. Try restoring the unit using System Restore or try reinstalling Windows on top of itself.

1. I did what you said and there is a directx folder and a key for it but it does not show me a version, it says "Name: defualt Type: Reg_SZ and Data: Value not set
2. I installed service pack 2 in August and for some reason system restore never showed up in my computer>Properties it looks like t was disabled.
3. How would i instal windows on top of itself? Wouldn't that mess Win Xp up? I only have SP1 Cd, SP2 i downloaded in an update

If you open the registry to the location above, then try this.
Right click on the DirectX FOLDER and select "New - String Value" Name the String Value "VERSION". save and lock it in.
Then RIGHT click VERSION and click Modify. Enter "4.09.0000.0904" as the Value Data. save and close.
Now go into the DirectX properties box and see if the value is listed.

OK THANK YOU now theres still a problem. Now in dxdag it shows directx 9.0c and i can open my san andreas game but my san andreas game crashes after 20 seconds of loading.then i check dxdiag and i get an error which says "Error: Problem getting network info, result code=0x80040154 (Class not registered)"
