I had directx 9.0c installed.
One day, i installed Call Of Duty 2.
It started to install a direct x 9.0c, but failed, i still managed to play it!Later i got my Need For Speed Most Wanted.
It started to install 9.0c, and also failed.
I loaded it from various sites, it still wont work.It loads updates, then it starts to copy files.
when it has copyed about 50%, it says "DirectX did not copy a required file" and then it closes and says "Installation failed"After this happened i deleted my old direct x with dx erader, or something.
It wont still install, what should i do?

Open the system information folder and see what directx is installed now.
I know you said you took it off, but look anyway.
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System information. Then look on the TOOLS tab under DirectX Diagnostic Tools = click. At the bottom of the SYSTEM screen will be the listing you are looking for.
Tomorrow the Stars!

You have not stated whether you have WinXP Pro with SP and what SP if present.
If you have Pre SP2 WinXP Pro, check this MSKB Article:
DirectX did not copy a required file
M

Okay, so i have WinXP Pro, with sp2..
and there aint tools tab
there aint DirectX diagnostic tools.
even the Search couldnt find anything

I searched with google about 6 hours now, no result.
My DirectX.log's last lines ->11/19/05 00:40:11: dsetup32: ExecuteInf(): Unable to install C:\windows\System32\DirectX\DX250.tmp\dsound.inf - [DefaultInstall], error = 5
11/19/05 00:40:11: dsetup32: InstallDirectXInfsFromInfSection(): ERROR: Installation of 'C:\windows\System32\DirectX\DX250.tmp\dsound.inf - [DefaultInstall]' failed
11/19/05 00:40:11: dsetup32: SetupForDirectX: Restoring Backups
11/19/05 00:40:12: dsetup32: Installation ended with value -5 = File not copied

Although the MSKB article recommends the troubleshoot for WinXP Pro and WinXP Pro SP1, it is still worth a try in this case too.
1. Open a Command prompt by clicking Start>Run and typing CMD and pressing ENTER
2.At the Command prompt, type cd %SystemRoot%\system32\dxxpdbg, and then press ENTER
3.At the Command prompt, type dxxpunp.exe, and then press ENTER.
4. At the Command prompt, type exit, and then press ENTER to close the command promptM

What do you find as the last line of text under System Information: if you click Start>Run and in Open: box type DXDIAG and then press [ENTER]?

Error : COULD NOT FIND DXDIAG.exe
and
last line is C:\Pagefile.sys
or, maybe you mean Internet Settings tab..

I wanted to make sure if your system has any DirectX and eveidently none.
At this point , the only thing I can suggest is to see if you can Restore DirectX bundled with WinXP PRO by trying a WinXP Repair Installation and later download DirectX9.0c to update it.
1.Configure your computer to start from the CD-ROM drive by accessing BIOS Setup by pressing the appropriate key like Del, F1 or F2 assigned to your System and changing the Boot Order such that CD-ROM drive boots BEFORE Hard Disk drive.2. Then insert your Windows XP Setup CD, and restart your computer.
3.When the Press any key to boot from CD message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.
4.Press ENTER when you see the message To setup Windows XP now, and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen.
Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console. in the first 3 options. You will get a Repair option later and at that time you can press R as shown in Step 6 below.
5.In the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement.
6.Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.
7.Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.
