When I run dxdiag a problem is highlighted in the networking tab, which I believe is preventing me from playing online pool etc. It is telling me the directplay8 has 4 errors, 2 in dpnmodem.dll and 2 in dpnwinsock dll. To be honest this means very little to me due to my lack of computer knowledge. I have reinstalled direct x, but no change, please can anyone advise me on what to do next? thanks, Del

Thanks for the response, I have installed directx 8 and 9 but my computer still refuses to load the pool tables in pool sharks using either version. I have no preference to either, just wanted to play the game! Last time I tried update to windows sp2 I ended up with a blue screen crash! will give it another go. My computer seems to have a total mind of it`s own at the moment to the extent of only loading windows 1 out of 3 attempts. It also decided not to show anything in add or remove programs. I have tried system restore and run virus checks etc etc. I`m thinking I may have to reinstall windows?
