Hi, i recently installed the new simpsons - hit and run game. it installed fine but i am getting and error and can't play the game. When i try to start the game i get an error dialogue box that says :

DirectX Error
D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
Code: 2156, facility: 2166, severity: 1

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anyone know why i am getting this error or how to fix it?

I have directX 9 and the game requirements says only directX 8 is needed, so i tried that but it didn't work....any help would be great.

Are you running DirectX 9a, or 9b? Update to "b" if you're running the "a" version. Available at Microsoft's website.

If nothing else works, uninstall the program. Before you reinstall it, make sure there are no folders or files left in the directory tree. Delete everything that refers to the game. Also, check the registry to make certain no keys were left behind. Almost without fail, an uninstall leaves useless keys behind. Backup your registry first.
