Just downloaded Directx 9 Beta 2,it expires in Jan 2003 so does anyone now when the final version will actually be out.

It's supposed to be out this month. Forget the beta, hold off for the finished product.

Actually I believe they pushed back the release.. and DX 9.1 is due out in first quarter of '03. Moot point anyway. you can count the number of games that use DX 8.1 on your fingers as it is. Just leave 8.1 installed until you have something that needs 9.x
Most of the DX 8.x games that are out don't use the new features (hardware shaders) and if your vid card doesn't have them 9.x downloads are a total waste of bandwidth. Besides.. the only card that supports dx 9.0 right now is the Radeon 9700.
