Dimension 3100 boot F1 to continue F2 to ente

June 10, 2009 at 19:29:16
Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, 2.018 GHz / 1023 MB
This PC was shut down suddenly from a power failure. Now every time it boots up, there are 2 faint beeps and a message saying floppy failure on boot, press f1 to continue or f2 to enter bios. f1 lets windows load up fine.

So I entered bios and turned off the floppy boot (there is no floppy on this PC) and saved it. I reboot, then I get the same error. Is there somewhere in the registry I can turn off that message? It is totally annoying to say the least.
Thanks

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Did you disable the floppy disk controller in the bios ?
Is there a floppy disk listed in the boot order somewhere ?

You loaded optimized or faiI-safe defaults after the power outage ? I had asked about the the floppy disk controller since that is separate from the floppy disk itself in the bios.
