There is no difference now if you said what's the difference between 4gb ddr3 Ram and 4gb ddr2 then i would say DDR3 runs at higher clocks and lower voltages. Also if you want more info on ddr3 then check out wikipedia

No difference at all. RAM is memory. RAM stands for Random Access Memory.

4GB is "How much", quantity.

4GB "DDR3" same quantity, specificied RAM speed. DDR>DDR2>DDR3. Slowest to fastest.
