I have both IE 7 and firefox 3 installed in my PC. I primarily use firefox for browsing.
when firefox installed it took the IE settings to connect to the internet and working fine till recently.

IE had only proxy settings earlier but now recently in my office they have included the wpad.dat file to automatically configure the script + proxy settings.

Now firefox doesnt load some pages which were working earlier(like google.com, wikipedia.org). firefox displays "Error 502 proxy server. ISA server denied the specified URI) But IE works and loads these pages fine.

I tried to change/import settings manually from IE onto firefox but still not working.

IE has the following settings in network connection
"Use automatic config script" checked with wpad file specified + "Use the proxy server for LAN" is checked and proxy server URL value specified.(both have checkboxes)

Whereas in firefox we have only either of this option (which uses radio button to choose)
"manual proxy configuration" or "Automatic proxy config URL" .

I tried all configuration but didnt worked. Just wondering whether the proxy server blocks google.com or wikipedia just because it is firefox? No idea...

Suggest me some thing where I can return to firefox.

Thanks
Guhan

I'm not sure about your problem, but follow these to see if it will work.

Open Firefox, click on "Options" from the "Tools" menu.
Click on "Advanced" (not sure if it's a tab or not), and click on the "Network" tab.
In the "Connection" area, click on "Settings"
Make sure that "No Proxy" is selected, click ok, and restart firefox.

I hope this helps.
