Diamond Modem Drivers...

Comment:

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get a Diamond SupraMax pci modem to work in XP. When I had XP on my machine the Win2k drivers wouldn't work for the modem...and XP said that the modem isn't digitally signed. Anyone know of a workaround or where to get a driver? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Howdy, Did you choose to continue even though it said the driver was bogus. Just ignore the message and see if it will work. If you have tried this, let me know.

Yeah I did continue with the Win2k driver installation...and it seemed that everything worked...after the reboot WinXP just removed the drivers and used the Conextant drivers instead. I dont' know why...but nothing seems to work with this modem...which is quite unfortunate cuz I really like XP.

Any other advice?

That's exactly the problem I'm having. The modem will get a dial tone...the it won't dial. Quite frustrating. I'm totally out of ideas on this....I was hoping someone else knew of a way out.

Hate to upset you all but my Diamond SupraMax 56k pci worked straight away without any additional drivers.

I am using XP Pro OEM version (modified inhouse, but we do not add drivers for the Diamond line of modems), don't know if that makes a difference

I have also problems with my SupraMax 56k USB on WinXP. I use the drivers from Win2k but it doesn't work. It dials, but it doesn't want to communicate with my ISP.

Please let me know if there are some drivers for it.

I have the same problem. I have a SupraMax USB modem V.92. It dials then goes silent and stays that way, doesn't connect. I kept trying it and finally got it to connect at 21.6kbs. I tried the Win2k drivers but Windows XP could not communicate with the modem. So I used the regular win9x drivers that came with the modem. I hope Diamond releases XP drivers if not I'll have to go back to a USR modem.

Oh dear, same problem here a SupraSST 56i Pro DFV exact same problem as Den - the website is hopeless with no mention of the XP operating system. Time diamond got their act together. Back on 98 awaiting further info. It won't let me use the w2000 drivers says it will make system unstable and stops driver loading.

I have supramax56k usb 2920 modem. If I remove the modem and reinstall with win2k drivers, and then remove and reset DUN I can connect once. I have had 21.6kbs and 31kbs.
This is an awfull lot of hassle to check emails don't you think. I'm here at the moment on win98se(fortunately I set up a dual boot) but this does not help me with Windows update.

I managed to turn v92 to v90 with at+ms command
But i do not know how to deactivate v44 and activate v42bis (connection fails when it comes to lapm/compression protocol and that is something that anyone could expect).

The site now lists compatibilities. I am running the Beta2 for the SST2850 and they are ok - being V92 the pattern of sounds is different than before, but the connection is actually a lot quicker that previous!
