I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get a Diamond SupraMax pci modem to work in XP. When I had XP on my machine the Win2k drivers wouldn't work for the modem...and XP said that the modem isn't digitally signed. Anyone know of a workaround or where to get a driver? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Howdy, Did you choose to continue even though it said the driver was bogus. Just ignore the message and see if it will work. If you have tried this, let me know.

Yeah I did continue with the Win2k driver installation...and it seemed that everything worked...after the reboot WinXP just removed the drivers and used the Conextant drivers instead. I dont' know why...but nothing seems to work with this modem...which is quite unfortunate cuz I really like XP.
Any other advice?

Same problemo here, got a pci soft 56k connexant, and it doesnt seem to work under winxp! It opens a port, the says it's dailing the number, but nothing happens!?

That's exactly the problem I'm having. The modem will get a dial tone...the it won't dial. Quite frustrating. I'm totally out of ideas on this....I was hoping someone else knew of a way out.

Hate to upset you all but my Diamond SupraMax 56k pci worked straight away without any additional drivers.
I am using XP Pro OEM version (modified inhouse, but we do not add drivers for the Diamond line of modems), don't know if that makes a difference

I have the same problem with my Diamon Supra SST Pro DF in Windows XP Pro - It opens a port, dailing the number, but not connecting !!!(XP give him a "Generic Soft56" driver , and he couldn't take the Win2k or NT drivers - "CONEXANT problem" or something else !!!!!!

Yep.
Same here. Supramax USB and Windows XP.
Opens port then says its dialling but nothing happens.

I have also problems with my SupraMax 56k USB on WinXP. I use the drivers from Win2k but it doesn't work. It dials, but it doesn't want to communicate with my ISP.
Please let me know if there are some drivers for it.

I have a Acorp Modem with chipset Connextant Soft k56 and doesn't dial the number. I thougth I was the only one with this problem...
If someone finds a solution plese email me.
Thanks a lot!

Yep u guessed it, It just will not work with XP.
I am running XP Pro with Supramax USB
s--- 1 like

yup
I got the same problem!
only I can't get any internal modem to work!
I can only get dia tone with a 33.6 external modem!!
IZ THIS LEGAL?!?!?
well, i guess i gotta have cable!

I have the same problem with the supra max usb,and the spanish version of xp pro...But there is a diference:
-I cant get the wink2 supra drivers to work with XP,so the modem wont dial...
I remember I had the same problem with NT,´cose they only made 95/98 drivers...
I have emailed to diamond waiting for a response...or better for xp drivers...

IT WORKS!!!!oohhh....almost...I get connected to the net with my "supra max 56k usb" at 21´6kb(fastest by now...)!!!,and i cant get connected every time I want:(...sometimes it crash...but IM HERE&HAPPY NOW!!
I used the Win2k drivers.

I have the same problem. I have a SupraMax USB modem V.92. It dials then goes silent and stays that way, doesn't connect. I kept trying it and finally got it to connect at 21.6kbs. I tried the Win2k drivers but Windows XP could not communicate with the modem. So I used the regular win9x drivers that came with the modem. I hope Diamond releases XP drivers if not I'll have to go back to a USR modem.

Oh dear, same problem here a SupraSST 56i Pro DFV exact same problem as Den - the website is hopeless with no mention of the XP operating system. Time diamond got their act together. Back on 98 awaiting further info. It won't let me use the w2000 drivers says it will make system unstable and stops driver loading.

I have supramax56k usb 2920 modem. If I remove the modem and reinstall with win2k drivers, and then remove and reset DUN I can connect once. I have had 21.6kbs and 31kbs.
This is an awfull lot of hassle to check emails don't you think. I'm here at the moment on win98se(fortunately I set up a dual boot) but this does not help me with Windows update.

Windows XP beta drivers for SupraMax usb out
ftp://ftp.diamondmm.com/pub/communications/supra/Supramax/sup2920

Drivers seems to have problem
I ve got v90 supra max ..drivers are for v92 modem..maybe that's y everyting is f---ed up (isp also doesn't support v92) anyone know how to disable v92 and v44 (for compression)
protocoals and reactivate v90 and v42bis ?

I managed to turn v92 to v90 with at+ms command
But i do not know how to deactivate v44 and activate v42bis (connection fails when it comes to lapm/compression protocol and that is something that anyone could expect).

Diamond site now has compatibility of XP with it's modems. The beta2 v.92 drivers to work with the Suprasst2850 as I am now using them.

I've tried those beta xp drivers for Supramax USB...the modem SEEMS to have worked, but when dialing up..it just screws up and makes awful screaming noise!!
Oh come on Diamond...I've had my modem under a year, dun tell me I will have to purchase another one!! pointless!

i have a supra sst 56i pro df and have the same problem...it doesn't work under XP....maybe diamond launch some new drivers soon? maybe close its factories? we'll know soon....good luck!

The site now lists compatibilities. I am running the Beta2 for the SST2850 and they are ok - being V92 the pattern of sounds is different than before, but the connection is actually a lot quicker that previous!

Oh great...my supramax USB aint compat with XP...will it ever be or do I have to get a new modem!!!

Diamond tell me that Supramax XP drivers are being worked on and should be available around the 18th of November.

Finally it works normaly under winxp.Just go to hardware-properties-advanced-command and add +ms=v34 or go to connexant and find the apropriate comand there...gl
