hi
how do you check what dial up numbers your internet uses, just to make sure that it is not using any premium rate numbers.
thanks

Just as a precaution i would phone your telephone provider & have all premium rate & international calls barred. There are some sneaky buggers out there.

Yes indeed, good advice. I take it you've been watching BBC's Watchdog? don't mess around, phone your telephone provider and have them bar ALL premium rate numbers from being accessed, it's the only sure option.

OR, you could get broadband, it's really not that expensive anymore..........

i agree with both answers 100% . as i work for a telecomunication company. some of the premiume rate connections hide them selves on your pc and the only way to get red of them is to format your HD .
good luck

So, getting Broadband prevents you from getting stung by premium rate dialers & services?

Yes, but you don't have to dial a number, do you?

Download Ad-aware, install it, update it, and run it 5 times a day preferrably.

Just keep an eye on your Internet Connections, make sure there are no numbers you don't recognise, if there are, delete them.

What Watchdog failed to tell us, is what sort of sites this crap originates from, there was mention of "a music site", but that's hardly helpful.

Get in touch with ICSTIS.
