It sounds like something is trying to get on the Internet and because you are not connected, it prompts you to connect. To stop this, in Internet Explorer: Go to the Tools menu > Internet Options > Connections tab. Choose the 'Never dial a connection' radio button and hit OK. That should do it. Now, a question... are you using some program that uses the Internet like an instant messenger or other program that starts when you start Windows? If not you might have some sort of spyware or adware on your computer. You might want to go to www.lavasoftusa.com and download the standard edition of Ad-Aware 6. Download and install it. When you run it, use the auto update feature, disable any anti-virus auto-protection, then perform a full system scan. If it finds anything it will show you at the end of the scan.
