Hi
We have a sonicwall firewall setup with a simple internal network ip 192.168.1-255 255.255.255.0. The client machines get it's IP from the DHCP server from the firewall.
I have setup 2 range of ips (lease time 72 hours) and the Ips that is not setup for dhcp,I have use them on the internal servers.
The problem is sometimes some client machines can't get an IP. When I type ipconfig /renew_all I get access denied on Windows 98 machines. The total range is about 168 ips it seems to happen when the DHCP server reaches over 100-130 on any random machines. I have to disable and enable the DHCP server before the client machine can get an IP. Which means I get ip conflict on some machine as I think they are trying to get an IP which has not been released.
Is there something wrong with the firewall or is it a setup problem. The firewall model is unlimited access (nodes).
