When I try to log off of windows XP, I get a graph bar entitled DEVLDR, that tells me it is ending the program. I have to wait for the bar to *fill*. When the bar graph completes filling, a message indicates that the program could not be found. What in the world is this? I just *X* out of it, and I can finally log off. This DEVLDR program? appears to be an unnecessary item to go through between clicking *log off* and actually being able to.

Ok, when you try to shut down your computer, you may receive an error message similar to the following:

DEVLDR not responding.
If you click End Now, your computer stops responding.
Cause
This error may occur if you have the Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live installed on your computer.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, remove or turn off the Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live Driver and reinstall the driver from the Windows XP CD-ROM. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, double-click System.
In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
Right-click Creative Labs SoundBlaster, and then click Uninstall.

When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
Reinstall the sound card driver from your Windows XP CD-ROM.

Download the latest SBlive drivers from creative and it should solve your problem

The default XP drivers that came in the CDrom aren't really ideal with the SBlive sound cards.

I didn't manage to set it to beyond 2 speaker output.

The update file from creative is about 25mb and it updates your drivers and your audio software as well.
