can't connect to the internet and i think it has something to do with these
items.running windows xp trying to upgrade to sp2 once i get internet access. can someone shed some lite on this pls.? thanks.
eric

I noticed your 128 Ram is the minimum for XP, you may want to upgrade if you want SP2 to run properly. Ram is quite inexpensive anymore.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

badboy, it won't let me delete or uninstall them. it says "failed to uninstall the device. the device may be required to boot up the computer." sound strange to u?
thanks.
eric

ok i uninstalled QoS and it got rid of everything except for:
direct parallel
wan miniport (ip)
wan miniport (l2tp)
wan miniport (pppoe)
wan miniport (pptp)i'm still unable to uninstall internet protocol (tcp/ip). any suggestions on how to do that and/or what may be preventing me from uninstalling it? the "uninstall" button is not available. grey shaded.
eric

Use a search engine to get info for your setup.
Example > uninstall internet protocol

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=299357
INTRODUCTION
In Microsoft Windows XP, the TCP/IP stack is considered a core component of the operating system, and you cannot remove TCP/IP. Therefore, when you view the list of components for a network interface, you may notice that the Uninstall button is disabled when Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is selected.
