Device Failures

I have been having a ton of problems with my system for over a year now and have never found a fix: AMD 1.4Ghz, 528 MB DDR RAM, 2 40 Gb Hard Drives, DVD, CDRW, Floppy, Radeon 7000 (64MB DDR) and SoundBlaster Live!

I have two problems:

(1) The infinite loop error that occurs and reboots my machine;
(2) More recently my machine will freeze and then I get a message saying the display device has failed and reboot to restore functionality. This now happens within a minute of me starting the machine.

I have tried a ton of different things:

(1) Reflashed MB BIOS
(2) Updated all drivers to latest versions from both ATI, GigaByte and tweaked drivers such as Omega.
(3) Flashed Video Card with latest BIOS.
(4) Removed and swapped RAM Modules
(5) Unplugged various power using devices to see if power supply is to blame
(6) Installed VIA 4-in-1 chipset drivers.
(7) Jigged BIOS settings such as lowering AGP and the like.

Nothing works. My strong suspicion is that this is a hardware issue with either (a) a faulty video card; (b) Bad RAM or (c) a failing MotherBoard.

My issue and my question to anyone with advice to give, is that everytime I run tests such as Burn-In-Test, MemTest86 and many others everything checks out just fine. System is hunky dorey, go nuts .... except I reboot and we are back to square one.

Is there any other way to narrow this issue down. I have no problem going and spending $150 on a better video card, but what if it is in fact the RAM? Or I go by the RAM and the Video Card and it's actually the MotherBoard? By then I could have upgraded to a brand new machine!!

Advice would be very welcome! Thanks

I would suspect the graphics card, but if u can either borrow or get hold of a cheap £5 second-hand card from a computer fair to test with, I would do that first.

pop in your windows xp disc
boot with it
go through setup
dont choose the first repair option and go through install
choose the second one, it will overlay everything with a fresh unupdated version...
guess what sp1 sometimes screws alot more things than it fixes

try it out
