Hey, I'm having no luck running Deus Ex in Windows XP.
The facts:
-An FAQ at eidosinteractive.com said that they weren't responsible for making a patch for Deus Ex (a Win95/98 based game) for Windows XP. They put the responsibility on Microsoft for backwards compatibility, which I think is a load of crap and that Eidos are idiots for not helping their customers out-The game has a 2 in 3 chance of crashing on startup, with no apparent reason behind when it crashes and when it doesn't.
-When run with OpenGL (latest nVidia drivers, of course) it would sometimes get into the game and run very slowly. Once I turned menu transparencies off it ran at a reasonable speed. OpenGL made any in-game transparencies turn the fuschia color that is used in programming to indicate where to apply transparency, so in other words my weapons displays were fushia and my crosshair was also solid fushia (this is what made it unplayable).
-Direct3D simply never ran right. The game would boot normally but it windowed itself and wouldn't go fullscreen no matter how much I coaxed.
-I didn't dare try software rendering. =)
I'm thinking about dual-booting with WinME just to play it, but I don't want to mess with that if at all possible. If anyone knows of a third party or unofficial patch, please let me know, and any other options I could try would be great. Thanks.

i have deus ex goty and it works fine in xp for my computer which has all windows patches and dx patches, try downloading all these and the latest versions of directx
