I'm really desperate as the computer pro's cannot solve this one. 3 months later we are still struggling. I'm trying to network my wife's computer (new XP- high spec) to mine (XP upraded from ME, P4 1.3 GHz/712 Mb ram) using a DLINK wireless system. We can see each others shared folders but cannot access them, get a Win error message something like "access denied, may not have permission" AND states "insufficient resources". Now the funny thing is that the wireless network IS working because a) she can use my DSL connection and b) we can see each others shared folders. The permissions for sharing all appear ok and I have set up all users on both machines with same name/passwords and administrator access. The Nokia M1122 is a DSL Router that generates dynamic IP addresses but I note that the DLINK 900AP access point also is DHCP enabled. I have turned off XP internet connection firewall and disabled Norton Personal Firewall 2002 on both machines to no avail. The odd thing is the MS support site states the "insufficient resources" error is only meant to apply to NT4. Can anyone help ???

HI
Is your wife's new computer a Brand Name computer, like IBM HP etc.
Some Brand name computers will not network or at lest not very well together.
This is not because of hardware. It's something they do to the windows they give you.
I had a simular problem, reformating and installing a full windows (Not the Window they give you with your new computer) fixed the problem.
My second idea would be to reformat the computer witch you updated from Windows ME.
Updates can do some VERY funny things.
Try formating and reinstalling ME, followed my XP.Let me know how you get on
Regards Caveman

make sure the username logging on is a user on both machines with administrative rights. also, if you use ntfs, make sure the c: drive security isn't limited to just the one username.
good luck,
leon
