Hello, Well i have had this problem or almost

just the stupid shortcuts on the desktop.

What is happening is the Icons for my
shortcuts on my desktop are getting this
icons that look like Microsoft excel pasted
over top of them , i dont know how to get rid
of it, i dont even have microsoft excel on my
computer, just microsoft word.

can someone please help me , this is starting
to get real annoying.
I have Tried Editing The Reg
UiTweak to repair it.
I remember doing other things just can't

A simple reboot to safe mode will often fix the problem. But it also might just be a temporary fix.

"is there anything i could do with windows blinds to fix this problem?"

Yeah, how about uninstalling Window Blinds & stop trying to turn XP into something it's not?

Try this: (Found this on another forum).

Right click the Desktop and select Properties.
Appearance tab> Advanced button.
In the Item: drop down, click Icon and
change the number under Size: on the right. Remember this
number, but change it and click OK, Apply and OK.
Then go back and reset the number to the original.

I'd try changing it to a slightly larger size first.

Your problems are most likely caused by Window Blinds. I stand by my response...stop trying to turn XP into something it's not. If you want Vista so bad, buy it & install it.

I agree with you 100%. I've seen many have problems similar to this. Especially when they uninstall Windows Blinds and don't change the settings back to default prior to the uninstall.

To each their own I guess.
