For some odd reason "My Documents" has appeared in a list at the left side of my screen behind the desktop. I can move the desktop to see all the items in the list but cannot hide it entirely. Is there a way to move this list so the desktop fills the screen? Thanks

hazel67,
"For some odd reason "My Documents" has appeared in a list at the left side of my screen behind the desktop".

Do you mean that you see the My Documents folder as in Windows Explorer or is it just the My Documents icon? Please try to explain better.

hazel67, If your My Documents folder is opening at startup go to the link below and scroll down to line 255 (right column) and click on "My Documents Folder Opens Upon Boot (for C:\)" to download a reg file. Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.

Hazel, I think you may have accidentally opened the "My Documents" toolbar. It opens when you left click on the "My Documents" icon on the desktop and drag the icon off the left side of the screen.

If this is the case all you have to do to close the toolbar is to right click on the tool bar at the top, and a list of choices appears, click on "close toolbar".

This same feature works the same way with the "My Computer" icon if you have it on your desktop.

Hope this helps.
