"My Documents" & "My Computer" icons don't work, that's either on the desctop or when I launch the start menu. I also can't access anything in the start menu except for Program files and even then programs take a while before they open. I have also noted that my cpu usage is at 100%.

right its not a worm or anything like that, you need to download start up organizer. start it up, go to tools, start up guard, and youll most likely see c:\windows\explorer.exe which will have a red cross to the left of it, just click with the mouse over the cross to make it as a green tick, this will enable the system to then find/see the rest of the command and priogrammes.
i know this cause i spent a week asking around and figured it out after hours in the late night . and it worked. you might even find 100 cpu aswell so hopefully this will be sorted.
