Comment: Two things: 1) The computer is a new notebbook. I do not have that desktop icon on the taskbar that is common on most computers. How do I get it there, please. 2) I have a desktop with Win 2000. On it, I have a "My Computer" window (not icon) on the desktop. This website used to have in the "How To" page a way to create this. I really liked that but don't remember how it was done. I can no longer find this in the How To. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance for any assistance

Reply: (edit)Right click start button select properties and under the 'Taskbar' tab ensure that 'Quick Launch' is checked. This with give you the desktop icon that you want.

Reply: (edit)Wheeler, For question 1 do the following: Show Desktop Icon is Missing Copy and paste the five lines below into Notepad. [Shell] Command=2 IconFile=explorer.exe,3 [Taskbar] Command=ToggleDesktop Then save it as Show Desktop.scf and drag it to your quick launch bar. I don't understand your question 2. Tufenuf
