I have a desktop I really like, but it's hard to read my icons. To put it simply, I made a picture. I have #1, and I want it to look like #2.

Right-click My Computer, get Properties.

Click 'Advanced' tab, then 'Settings' in Performance section.

Uncheck 'use drop shadows for icon labels...'

Hi Zekryn

You want the black borders around your icon labels ??
Most people want to get rid of them !!

Try this...
Control Panel / System
Advanced tab
Performance
Visual Effects
Uncheck "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"
Click Ok
