Every single time i boot up my machine My desktop disappears completey(taskbar & icons) and all my keyboard shotcuts are disabled except for ctrl+alt+del. I ussually have to log off and on again several times in order for the desktop to stay. I am using WinXP Pro.

Any suggestions as to the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help

That's an indication that Explorer has bit the dust. It might be one of your drives causing it. You could try diconnecting any cdroms, cdrws and second hard drives that you have. Or you might want to try a reinstall first.
