Desktop Disappearing

Hello, I have Windows XP Pro. Everyday, sometimes 2-3 times per day the desktop disappears and I have to go into the properties to put it back. Does anyone know what this is or if there is a fix for it. Thank

No just the Wallpaper disappears. The PC works fine. My color background is black thats all I see. But the background just disappears even if I redo my profile it works fine for a month and starts disappearing again. I looked on technet they have no fix for this issue.
