Desktop and Taskbar Wont Show!!!

One day i started my computer and my desktop and taskbar wouldnt show. I think it crashed. If it did what should i do??

Try pressing CTL-ALT-DEL and selecting the Applications tab, click the New Task button, and type expolorer.exe. Then click Okay. See if you can get to your desktop.

Dsoul001, If Kevin's suggestion doesn't solve the problem go to the link below and scroll down to line 195(right column) and download the "Restore Desktop Icons and Taskbar" .vbs file. Save it to your hard drive (you may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double
click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.

"NOTE: If your anti-virus software warns you of a "malicious" script, this is normal if you have "Script Safe" or similar technology enabled. These scripts are not malicious, but they do make changes to the System Registry".

ive tried kevins and it did not work...and tufenuf should i download it on my current computer and save it to a disk and try to get it to run on my xp because i cant acces the internet on my xp

Dsoul001, Yes, download it to a CD or floppy disk then transfer the CD of floppy disk and copy the file to your hard drive and run it. Hopefully it will correct the problem. Files from that site are safe to download & run.

Ive copied it to a disk but i have run into a new problem. I cannot get Windows to start. Its gets ready to start but then it freezes up and stops.Ive been told to use my startup disks to get it started but i dont know the password. Is there any way around this???Or am i doing this the completely the wrong way. Please help.
