Desk top pc too slow now

Specs: Windows XP, Pentium 4cpu 2.40 GHz
windows xp, home edition, version 2002, service pk 3 Pentium
2 days ago everything began extra slow when clicking on browser or anything else.
What can I do?

At looking at the bottom of this, I see that product and tags are not filled out. I do not know what they mean.

You could start with a malware scan. Try malwarebytes:

If you have a recent restore point you could do a system restore. START--PROGRAMS--ACCESSORIES--SYSTEM TOOLS--SYSTEM RESTORE. I had to do that once when IE slowed to a crawl and I couldn't figure it out.

Assuming that the computer is clean you could try some TLC

1) Uninstall any old / unused applications as they can add bloat to your computer, slowing it down.

2) Perform a disk-clean on the computer
CCLEANER is a good program to help remove the clutter that builds up over the years.

3) Perform a disk defragmentation
Start -> All Programs -> Accesories -> System tools -> Disk Defragmenter
This will help organize the files on your hard disk so that the computer can load more efficiantly.
