Is it possible to reformat the HDD and then install Windows XP on the reformatted drive using just a Dell Reinstallation CD for Windows XP? I have Windows ME at the moment and want to completely reformat and install XP instead. Any help would be appreciated
NO, reinstall CD require files stored on hard drive hidden partition installed by the manufacturer specific to the machine the CD was sold with, you need a full or upgrade copy of XP.
