My Dell wont boot up. it goes through the set up then shows my screen saver but nothing else, no desktop icon's, no start tab in the lower left corner, nothing but my screen saver. I have done the f12 and diagnostic but nothing was found and then it finished the boot up to the screen saver again with nothing else. Please help:(

Try start up in Safe Mode. Hold down F8key during boot up. Select Safe Mode. "Last Known Good Configuration" might be worth a try first. It's on the same Menu as Safe Mode There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

I'm guessing what you're seeing is your desktop background and not your screen saver. How long are you waiting before you power-cycle the laptop. As suggested, try Safe Mode.
