Hi,
I currently have a dell desktop that is about on its last leg. I'm going to order a new dell laptop to replace it. My question is, can I use the Microsoft Office CDs that came with my old computer to install it on my new laptop? Or do I have to buy another copy with it? Thanks!!

You own that License, so you can install it on a new computer. No problem there..

That's what I was hoping, but I'd called dell last night and they said no because it was just a reinstall cd and not the full software version (or something to that effect). Are they just telling me that so I'll buy another copy? I was afraid to order without getting it if I couldn't use my old one because then I'd have to fork out even more for a copy by itself.

I upgraded my Dell 2350 to this new Dell 4700, and I installed software that came with my old Dell without encountering any difficulties at all. I agree with JenniferSUMN... you own that software already so I would assume you can reinstall it on your new Dell without the "Dell Police" coming and knocking on your door, lol.....
Maybe the tech support guy misunderstood what you were asking him... I've run into that myself before, particularly if you get stuck with one of their support people in India who cannot understand our English too well.
