My gf is having a problem with her dell 4600s system (the slim dell desktop). She is getting blue screens that occur when she hears weird noise as if the hard drive is locking up from what was described to me, and the computer totally locks up and she is forced to restart. Also she has a problem connecting to the net sometimes, as her computer will act like it is offline and she can't connect to anything(even though she has broadband). Int Explorer shows that she is offline, and it won't connect without a restart.

So she asked me to take a look at it, so I had it for 3 weeks and ran it everyday. I ran all sorts of tests, tried overloading the computer with many applications running at once, but i could not duplicate the problem. The computer connected to the internet just fine, and it never once locked up on me. This was the 3rd time now i've taken the computer to look at.

I had it for such a long period of time and had no problems, then as soon as she took it back, the problems started again. So i'm beginning to wonder could it be a power problem(lack of or excess of) or internet connection problem where she has it connected. Is that a possibility for causing these types of problems, or is this just terribly bad luck? What do you think?

Also check to see what other hardware she maybe using at her place: printer, scanner, external hdd..etc. Because it sure sounds like a hardware driver conflict to me. even a possible failing modem

Yeah we are using the same login, and I would say this problem began about a year ago. I told her when she hooks it up to disconnect the printer and webcam she uses, but other than that everything connected to the computer is the same as the setup I have.
