Deleting old partition creating new

Ok i shall phrase this as best i can, when i tried fixing windows before by repairing, there were 2 partitions one was 0mb and the other 50k or so mb, i want to delete the one that hold my current windows xp stuff and start fresh by creating a new one? I dont know if thats understandable but thanks in advance!

What I understand is that you have two partitions which you wish to delete and want to start a fresh with creating a new partition and install WinXP. If thats what you want, just boot from Windows XP CD and you will get an option of deleting existing partions and create and install a new one. That should help.

Ok thanks just to verify though i am deleting just the partition of windows, not the actual partition where am i placing the new windows on?
