Hi there
I created another admin account on my computer and I want to delete it as it's messed with the original one (the original does not show up now on the login screen etc, I only get the choice of the new account or the guest account)
How do I do this? I've logged in to the OLD admin account VIA safe mode and it won't let me delete the new one. I've been in to system properties and deleted all the personal files for the newer admin account, (again in safe mode), but when I restart the computer, it just asks me to reconfigure it.
I simply want my computer back to how it was before creating this 2nd admin account. So when it starts up, I get the original admin login option and the guest login.
How does one delete a 2nd admin account?? HELP!!
Thanks a lot.
Dave.

How about logging in as Administrator from safe mode, delete all accounts & create a new user (admin) account?

Before posting try google. Backup. Use anti virus software.

First thing you need to understand is it is normal for when you have created no users to come up as administrator. Once you create accounts the only way to access the administrator account is to do a control-alt-delete a couple of times at the welcome window. Then put in administrator and password.

What did you name this new administrator account?

My concern is you are actually trying to delete the real administrator account.

You should ALWAYS provide yourself with a back door admin account in case the admin account gets corrupted.

My suggestion is leave what you have in place and perhaps get a book that will explain in more detail how to properly manage local user accounts.

Imagine the power of knowing how to internet search

Hi all.
I was so stupid. I simply did a system restore to 3 days ago and it's solved the problem!
Duh!
Thanks for the replies anyway.
Always helpful.
I'm so stupid.
Dave.
