Hey.
Uhm a few days ago i just woke up and turned on the computer to find that a few things weren't working right.. A few programs / games i have won't connect to the internet. Webpages load perfectly fine like always so it's not a connection problem..
Programs like Bearshare (file sharing program like kazaa) when i search for something it returns no results and says the connection times out, also when i play all my other online games like Ragnarok Online and Call of Duty, it says "cannot connect to server"

I've been wondering why these programs / games don't work all day.. Cause my internet is fine and pages load normally
I remember using adware/spyware deleting programs to clean out my computer a few days ago.. and one of them deleted a few registries cause it said they were invalid or something..
If this is the reason, can it be fixed..? I've tried reinstalling all my programs and games that don't work.. Doesn't help :-/

Can you do a system restore to when your weren't having problems?

Dell Dimension 4600i
Windows XP Home SP2
Microsoft Office 2003
Pentium 4 @ 2.8GHz
512MB Dual Channel RAM
40GB HD

...If my computer's not happy, I'm not happy.

Haha, i believe it was 'CCleaner'... I also used adaware and spybot but only did CCleaner delete some registries.. It listed about 50 of them, and i personally went through them to make sure i weren't deleting any important ones.. Just skimmed over the names of them.. Most of them were from programs i uninstalled over a year ago..
But you know i might of deleted some of the wrong ones.
Me deleting registries might not even have anything to do with this problem. Maybe it's just a coincidence that i deleted some registries a day before this problem came up

Adaware and spybot will kill bearshare because it needs spyware to operate, both programs have restore functions to get back what you deleted. Crud cleaner will destroy the registry but you can also save what you delete and rescue them.

If all that is not an option tap the F8 key when re-booting and choose last good known configuration.

Well as i said i tried reinstalling bearshare.. Still doesn't work. So the problem here isn't from adaware/spybot deleting bearshare files.

Also i don't think i can bring back the registries CCleaner deleted.. Cause i remember it asking me if i want to "backup" the registries before i delete them and.. feeling confident that i wouldn't delete anything important, i chose no.

I'll try going into BIOS and choosing last good known config though.. Hope that works :-/
